Shrapnel's Biography...
Shrapnel as it is today formed in April 2009, in a very short time the band has gained notice from the music scene in and outside of the bands home city of Norwich. Already receiving airplay on Internet and FM radio stations including Future Radio’s Distortion programme and ARfm, being included on a compilation CD and DVD from Revolution Festival which included bands such as The Rotted and Scar My Eyes, a UKThrash podcast and Thrash compilation 'Cardinal Sins Vol1', as well as receiving praise from members of band such as Evile, Alestorm and Metal Giants Anthrax, Shrapnel’s thirst and drive has been made very clear right from the start.
The debut EP “No Saviours” has been a great success. Recorded at Purple Studios in Norwich the EP is a high octane, aggressive example of the bands capabilities. It is a hard, heavy collection that demonstrates aggression with technicality. From the screaming guitar solos to the crushing drum fills, Shrapnel are reminiscent of the glory days of Thrash Metal but not so much that they try to re-create them. The band has its own mind, its own thoughts and its own perspective on the genre and delivers them with a sledgehammer.
