RULES OF THE VENUE
We don't want to run on about what you can and cannot do here at 'B2' Venue.. we are a fairly relaxed crew and want to ensure that the venue remains somewhere you can feel comfortable, a place in which you can be yourself and feel safe. In able for us to do this we have a very small amount of do's and don'ts.... they're nothing drastic and mostly common sense...
Please read them carefully, and remember they are in place to make sure that you, all bands and our staff remain safe while here at the venue...
RULES FOR GUESTS / RULES FOR BANDS
- ALL METAL/SCREAMO NIGHTS AT B2 ARE 18+ ENTRY...
Unfortunately if you can not prove that you are 18 years
or over you WILL NOT be allowed access to the venue
on these nights...
Band members are exempt from the age limit
and so any age band or person can still play in B2…
Also we must stress that it is only METAL/SCREAMO nights that have an age restriction on them, ALL OTHER GIGS will remain 14+
All gigs with the 18+ restriction on them will be marked
on both our website and our myspace to prevent any confusion…
- YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO HAVE SUITABLE ID
IF YOU WISH TO BUY ALCOHOL. Forms of ID that we accept are as follows...
Passport
Driving License
Any other Nationally recognized Pass card with
The PASS hologram on it, e.g, Portman Group
Card / Citizen Card / Connexions Card
Any other form of ID will not be accepted...
- CROWD SURFERS WILL BE REMOVED!!
We know it must be great fun jumping on everyone from
a great height, but PLEASE do not do it here... it can be very
dangerous for the people you land on.. so DON'T DO IT!
- ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR OF ANY KIND TOWARDS ANYONE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.
This is not something we take lightly, if you are caught being abusive either verbally or physically to our staff, customers, bands or basically any other venue user you will be removed from the venue and if neccessary the police will be involved.. Don't get us wrong, we are not saying that you're going to cause trouble, we are saying that we are pulling out all the stops to ensure your B2 Venue experience is a safe and pleasant one. :-)
- KINDLY ADHERE TO OUR POLICY ON DRUGS
The easiest way to understand this one is DO NOT
BRING DRUGS INTO THE VENUE or BRING THEM
ONTO VENUE PROPERTY. If you are caught taking
illegal drugs, supplying them or caught with them on
your person, they will be confiscated and the police
will be called. There are no second chances...
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!
- CCTV: There are over 30 CCTV cameras around the
venue to ensure your safety, please be aware
YOU CAN BE SEEN!
- PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL INTO
THE VENUE - it will be confiscated and disposed of -
for your enjoyment, the bar serves alcohol and a wide
variety of soft drinks...
- MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEARCH
YOUR BELONGINGS AT ANY TIME WHILST YOU ARE
IN THE VENUE OR ON B2 PROPERTY.
- WANT TO GIG @ B2 VENUE????
We get so many demos and emails from bands wanting
to play here at B2. We try to accomodate as many as we
can, however the best way to secure yourself a slot on
our stage is to get onto our PROMOTERS page, see
which promoter suits your band best and contact them,
they will then endeavour to get you on their bill.
Obviously you can still send us your details, demos andmyspace links, just please be aware that it will take us a little while to get back to you, BUT we will get back
to you !!
- THIS IS HOW IT IS ....
Here at B2 we are 100% gunning for the promotion of original music, it is the esscence of the venue. For this reason we let you stipulate how much you want to
charge on the door and we let you keep 100% of what
you make. What you do with that money is then up to
you ie: split it beween the featured bands or run for the
ring road as MacDonalds is now open till 3am !! it's
your call.. We hope to cover our staff costs with our bar takings, but this doesnt mean that you can sit back and expect it to all just happen... you need to get out there
and promote your gig as much as you can, if people
don't come, we still have to pay our staff, and rather
than let them stand about in an empty room we will
sadly tell you to pack up and go home-what's the point playing to a barman ? So, to save this embarassment,
it's up to you to work your butts off and get people to
your gig!!!
- ONCE YOUR GIG IS CONFIRMED...
We will be provided with all information relating to any
other live events in the same city undertaken by the
Artist that fall within one week either side of the date of
the Engagement agreed. If such events are booked in without our knowledge, we reserve the right to withdraw
from the Engagement without penalty. In short, for your
own sake do not play another Norwich venue a week
before or a week after your gig, it's bad management
and does not benefit you or us. If you do, we reserve the
right to pull the gig...
- PROMOTION OF YOUR GIG
It is understood that both parties will do all they can to ensure a successful, well attended show. We will send out listings to all relevant parties, place posters in the venue, and where possible preview the show on their website. To facilitate this, the Artist or their Representative should send in promotional material (Biography, Press release, small JPEG image, small band logo in GIF format) as soon as the event is confirmed. It is understood that they should also
promote the show themselves as much as possible via flyers, email, posters or web listings.
- IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL YOUR GIG
Should you need to cancel your gig please give no less than two weeks notice. The management reserves the
right to charge you a cancellation fee to cover staffing costs should you cancel with less than two weeks notice.
ON THE NIGHT - YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
- Arrive for 7pm sharp for load in and soundcheck - if you require an earlier load in or soundcheck this MUST be
pre-arranged with management no later than two weeks before the event.
- Work alongside in house sound engineers to ensure
you get the best sound possible. You are welcome to
bring your own engineers but please be prepared to
work with our in house engineer who will be on hand
to offer advice and guidence on in house equipment.
- PROVIDE SOMEONE TO MAN THE DOOR
This person does not need an SIA licence as we are
not asking you to bring a doorman,(We have our own).
There are two reasons we ask you to put someone on
the door... the first being that you will want someone
you know and trust to take the entrance fee and keep
hold of your pennies until you finish sweating yer bits
off on stage... the other reason, and this is vital to the smooth running of the venue is to KEEP THE VENUE
DOORS SHUT while the bands are playing. B2 works
so well as it's walls are two and half foot wide and are professionally soundproofed. Our lobby is a sound-
proof vaccum which stops sound escaping into
our neighbours front rooms. If we keep the doors
shut, we keep our neighbours happy. Sadly, these
days it only takesone complaint to spark an investigation
and closure. Obviously we don't want this... so again, in short...put someone you know and trust on the door!
- BE POLITE TO VENUE STAFF AND OTHER BANDS
Rude, abusive behaviour will not be tolerated, and it
doesn't matter how good your band are, how famous
you are or if your single is at number 347 in the UK
charts... if you are nasty, rude, abusive or violent in
anyway to anyone, you will be kindly asked to leave and failing that, removed.
- SHARE AS MUCH EQUIPMENT AS POSSIBLE
B2 is a relatively small cosy venue and loads of gear
around minimalises your space on stage, for this
reason we would appreciate it if you could liase with
other acts to share as much gear as you can. House equipment is available for your use if you require.
Check out the house gear!!
- RESPECT HOUSE EQUIPMENT
When you book a gig with us, whether you are a band
or a promoter, you are instantly responsible for any
house equipment you use. Any misuse, damage caused
to our house equipment by stupidity or force WILL BE PAID FOR by you. This includes the back stage area,
the stage, all house equipment and PA equipment and
venue fixtures and fittings. All it takes is a little respect
for our stuff... simple as that!
- CROWD SURFING IS A HUGE NO - NO !!
We know it must be great fun jumping on everyone from
a great height, and are aware that some of you use it as
part of your performance but our insurance will not cope
with such displays of energy!! SO PLEASE do not do it
here... it can be very dangerous for the people you land
on.. and will result in us pulling your gig half way
through your set!!
- ENCOURAGING RIOTS AND ABUSIVE BEHAVIOUR!!
When you are on stage you are being watched by hundreds of adoring fans. PLEASE do not encourage
the crowd to lose control / damage the venue / start
fights or induce abusive behaviour. This will result in legal action for enciting a riot, it sounds laughable but it has been done before and severel people got hurt. The police were called and the said band faced charges. It's not worth it so DON'T DO IT!!
- IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 - DO NOT bring alcohol onto the premises, DO NOT consume alcohol on the premises,
DO NOT attempt or get your mates to attempt to buy you alcohol... it is a chargable offence. We reserve the right
to breathalise you on site with our nifty little machine!!.
If you are under 18 and we have reason to believe you
have consumed alcohol before entering the venue you
will be asked to leave or refused entry.
- PLEASE RESPECT OUR POLICY ON ILLEGAL DRUGS:-
This is a simple one, just:
DON'T BRING THEM HERE!
DON'T DO THEM HERE!!!
DON'T SELL THEM HERE!!!
YOU WILL BE REPORTED TO THE POLICE !!!!
Thats about it folks, we hope you don't think these venue rules are too harsh. They are put in place to protect us, the other bands, staff, venue and all those that come to the venue. Alot of work goes into organising events and everyone involved wants to ensure a good and safe gig !!
Ok enough already !!!
